#HAM RADIO DELUXE REMOTE CONTROL FULL#
I would appreciate knowing if anyone utilizing HRD and the TS-990 have or have not been able to take advantage of full rig control including initiating the antenna tuner in the radio. I read where one or two operators are utilizing the TS-2000 settings controlling the TS-990, but I assumed that was prior to HRD releasing the code for the TS-990 some year ago. Ham Radio Deluxe Rig Control provides rig control for over 100 supported. Besides, Kenwood can point to the fact that there are no such "limitations" with controlling the radio via ARCP-990 and they would be right in my experience. Control software including setup and operating the HRD Remote Control along. Talking with HRD support, they more or less point to the TS-990 firmware but that's a non-starter. But the lack of access to the antenna tuner is fatal. There seem to be a couple other anomalies with the Noise Blanker / Noise Reduction circuitry as well. Even the perimeter of the ATU button in HRD desktop lights, but it does not activate the tuning sequence. Yes, there is the control available in HRD for activating the internal antenna tuner of the TS-990, but it does not initiate tuning. One that is almost a non-starter (given my interest in remote operations) is no antenna tuner available. Rig Control allows you to organize buttons, sliders, and drop-downs to toggle radio options, select modes and filter settings, and control various level inputs via your computer. But, I do notice some limitations with my setup and HRD controlling the TS-990 specifically. The heart of Ham Radio Deluxe, Rig Control provides a customizable interface to control your amateur transceiver using its built-in computer aided control interface. This is an extremely satisfying "handshake" and the TS-990/SDR-Console/HRD operate surprisingly smoothly together.
Two or more hams from different places can operate different radios at the same time using one MFJ-1234. I put the the version of HRD on the desktop last February and I utilize the 3rd party hardware settings to talk with SDR-Console. One browser can control a radio while a second can control another radio, etc. My apology if this discussion has been covered before but there are over 200 posts when you search HRD, so I did not go through all of them.
